HOLY BATMAN! There's a new kidtinerary in town!
This one takes cartoon lovers to a gallery/museum featuring all kinds of comic art, stores with the best selection and some great bargains, and tops it all off with lunch at a restaurant where Tintin is on the prowl.
The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art has been struggling to open, seeking funds for a permanent exhibit. They say they are reopening in May 2008, but considering it is well past that time, it would be best to call first. When they are open, they feature one permanent exhibit (usually September through January) and others on select weekends.
Forbidden Planet is primarily an adult comic bookstore and the crowds can be daunting. However, the kid's section is one of the largest in the city and the staff knows just about everything about comic art. It also has possibly the city's largest collection of comic and cartoon related toys, and even some cult TV toys.

Have lunch with Tintin!
Comic fans will love Petite Abeille for its Tintin theme. There's a full collection of Tintin books (all in French), Tintin memorobilia, and Tintin drawings. Just because it has a theme doesn't mean adults should write it off: the airy omelets, crisp waffles, fresh berries, authentic whipped creme and resonable prices make it one of our brunch favorites. During weekends try to get here before noon.

The best spots for Thinking Families to do, see, eat, play, stay, learn, and live.
